Corrosion Testing

Cormetrics has highly specialized corrosion testing equipment with the ability to perform tests to meet a wide range of field conditions. These conditions include, but are not limited to: sweet and sour conditions, low to high pressures and temperatures as well as varying gas compositions. We meet ASTM and NACE standard methods as well as any customized test procedures that may be required. We are committed to working with our customers to develop the best protocol to meet their specific needs. Our open door policy allows our clients to be as involved in the testing as they wish.

OUR TESTING INCLUDES:

Cormetrics has many years experience in upstream pipeline corrosion inhibitor testing. Using specialised test equipment we can evaluate inhibitor performance under high shear conditions or simulate high pressure sour field conditions.

We provide our clients with clear, concise and “to the point” reporting. We are always able to customize any of our reports to the specific needs of our clients. Our standard reports include the following:

  • Test Protocol with details such as brine compositions and summarized test procedures
  • LPR Graphs of time versus corrosion rate
  • Electrode Weight Loss data and corresponding weight loss corrosion rates
  • Visual Inspection of electrodes and descriptions
  • Photographs of electrodes
  • Summary and Conclusions with specific chemical rankings if applicable.

SAMPLE REPORTS

Cormetrics provides testing services on well stimulation fluids. This includes corrosivity testing of acid treatment products and total acid solubility evaluation on core samples.

Cormetrics performs testing services to evaluate the corrosivity of drilling muds and determine the effectiveness of drilling corrosion mitigation additives. Corrosion ring analysis is provided to determine the field corrosion rate.

Cormetrics provides specialised test services in the evaluation of corrosion resistant alloys. In addition to standard LPR corrosion rate testing Cormetrics employs other specialised electrochemical techniques to evaluate the corrosion and pitting behaviour of alloys. These techniques include Cyclic Potentiodynamic Polarisation to evaluate the susceptibility of an alloy to localised corrosion attack and Potentiostatic Polarisation to evaluate the corrosion response of an alloy under accelerated conditions.
